At 10:48 a.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2021, Local members responded to the Massey Draw area at Chatfield State Park for a possible ice rescue. A person passing by noticed something that appeared to have fallen through the ice, which prompted their call for help. Read More...

At 4:10 p.m. on Saturday December 26, 2020, Local 2086 and 1309 members responded to a house fire on W. Maplewood Drive in Unincorporated Jefferson County. A large black plume of smoke on scene could be seen from miles away. When Battalion Chief 1 arrived, he found heavy fire conditions in the garage extending to two vehicles parked in the driveway and threatening the rest of the home. Read More...

At 3 p.m. on Friday, December 25th, Local 2086 and 5280 members responded to several reports of heavy smoke coming from the top of DADS landfill, located at 3500 S. Gun Club Road in Arapahoe County. At 12:38 p.m. on Christmas Day, Local members responded to a 911 call reporting a dog had fallen through the ice at Cheese Ranch Park in Highlands Ranch. When members from Station 17 arrived a short time later, the dog was already under water. A member wearing a drysuit immediately attempted a search and rescue effort but was unable to locate the 7-year-old English Bulldog. Read More...

At 5:40 a.m. on Friday December 25, 2020, Local members responded to a house fire on Settlers Drive in Unincorporated Douglas County. When Battalion Chief 4 arrived on scene, he found smoke and flames on the backside of the house. Members from Engine 41 stretched an 1 3/4” hose line for fire attack. Because of the heavy fire conditions, the fire extended into the attic space. Read More...

Just before 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday December 23, 2020, Local 2086 and 4116 members along with Elizabeth Fire Rescue responded to an outbuilding fire on Chalet Circle in Unincorporated Douglas County. When members arrived on scene, they found a barn on fire. Crews pulled a horizontal standpipe for fire attack and tenders brought extra water to the scene with this barn being in an unhydranted area. Around 8:50 p.m. on Friday December 18, 2020, Local members responded to a house fire on Wheatgrass Circle in Parker. When members arrived on scene, they found heavy fire conditions in the garage and immediately stretched an 1 3/4” hose line for transitional fire attack - putting water on the fire from the outside, then transitioning to putting water on the fire inside the home.
