Trailside Apartments Room and Content Fire
December 21, 2021, 2:45 a.m. - Local members responded to a fire alarm at the Trailside Apartments near S. Twenty Mile Road and Mainstreet in Parker, CO. Parker Police arrived on the scene and stated that black smoke was coming from one of the residences. First arriving units searched the unit and found smoke. At 2:14 p.m. on Monday, December 20, 2021, multiple 911 callers reported a column of black smoke rising from the roof of the Red Robin restaurant located at 9130 Crown Crest Blvd. in Parker. While enroute, members observed the smoke from miles away. Read More...
Carlyle Park Circle Multi Family Structure Fire
December 19, 2021 – 11:19 a.m., South Metro Fire Rescue’s Dispatch Center started to receive 9-1-1 calls stating smoke was visible from a townhome on Carlyle Park Circle in unincorporated Douglas County. Once Local members from the first arriving units saw the reported smoke billowing from the attic eaves, the call was upgraded to a confirmed multi-family structure fire response. Read More...
Douglas County Brush Fires
Around 7:15 p.m. on Saturday December 18, 2021, South Metro began receiving multiple calls for grass fires occurring at fireworks shows in Douglas County. Initially there were 4 brush fires reported, but 2 of those were callers reporting the same fire. Read More...
Chatridge 3 Interface Brush Fire
At 10:38 a.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, SMFR responded to Highway 85 and Chatridge Court in Douglas County after multiple 911 callers reported a grass fire. South Broadway House Explosion
On Sunday December 12, 2021 at 10:45 a.m., South Metro received a call for a gas odor and explosion at a home in the 5900 block of S. Broadway near the intersection of S. Broadway and E. Orchard Rd. The people in the house at the time were from out of town and renting the residence during their visit in Colorado. Read More...
C470 Tanker Roll Over with Hazmat
At 07:31 a.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021, Local members responded to a traffic collision involving a tanker truck on the off ramp from westbound C-470 to Santa Fe Drive in Douglas County. First arriving Battalion Chief 1 found the tanker tipped over with diesel fuel actively spilling onto the roadway. Thankfully the driver escaped without injuries and no other vehicles were involved. Prentice Ave. Commercial Structure Fire
Just after 6:45 a.m. on Monday, December 6, 2021, South Metro received a call for a reported fire at an office unit on E. Prentice Ave. in Greenwood Village. Greenwood Village Police and another 911 caller also reported heavy smoke coming from the scene.
