Carlyle Park Circle Multi Family Structure Fire
Posted On: Dec 22, 2021
December 19, 2021 – 11:19 a.m., South Metro Fire Rescue’s Dispatch Center started to receive 9-1-1 calls stating smoke was visible from a townhome on Carlyle Park Circle in unincorporated Douglas County. Once Local members from the first arriving units saw the reported smoke billowing from the attic eaves, the call was upgraded to a confirmed multi-family structure fire response. Crews pulled initial attack lines and established a water supply via nearby hydrants. Because of how the protective firewalls were placed and how the smoke was distributed across the roofline, the Incident Command wanted to ensure that the fire did not extend into the other residences and the associated attic area. A drone was utilized to get an overhead view of the incident. Members were able to locate the fire and extinguish it before the fire extended into the other townhomes. The lack of fire extension was partly attributed to shutting doors and windows in the fire unit and neighboring units.
South Metro’s Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause. No reports of injuries were reported.
